With about 80% of it's population living in poverty, Haiti remains one of the least-developed countries in the Americas. Foreign aid makes up about 30-40% of the national government's budget.
Sitting in the Caribbean Sea, Haiti was recently hit by a devastating earthquake and is often pummeled by hurricanes and tropical storms. These often result in mudslides, contaminated drinking water, and death to many Haitians.
We are grateful for the opportunity to assist the people of Haiti through relief shipment during and after such natural and devastating disasters. Because of You, we were able to send 40' containers of relief supplies to the people of Haiti after the storms of 2008 and the earthquake of 2010. Thanks to Antillean Shipping Lines and SeaBoard Marine for contributing significantly to this effort! Disaster Relief in this part of the world is an ongoing project.
